Hi Kyle,
Great to read that you got some great weather to get out in your Plymouth...Great Ride & love reading the story about it.
EnJoy your Holiday...Oh, take pic's & share

This was my grandpa's car, that I inherited in October...RIP Gramps...
My name is Annie! I came to be a 1948 Plymouth Special De Luxe 4 door sedan in October 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. I then moved to York, Pennsylvania, where someone bought me for $1,529.24. This person sold me for $1,725.00 in March of 1949. I guess folks did that to make some extra money. Anyway, a very nice lady bought me, by the name of Annie Quickel of York, Pennsylvania. That is how I got the name of Annie from my 5th owner, to honor Miss. Quickel who took good care of me. She would cover me with blankets so the light coming in from my garage windows would not fade my paint or my insides. Till this day, my insides are still original from the factory. I don't remember if my body was painted. I know some of my fenders and doors were repaired and painted. She even put a new clutch in me in 1961 and turn signals in 1962. See, in Pennsylvania, cars are inspected every year. I have lots of those inspection slips from Wiest Motor Company Inc. of York, Pennsylvania. They sell Chrysler's and Plymouth's. My last inspection was in 1966 and I had 20,825 miles on me. I even have a lube sticker on my driver door from Quaker State Oil where I was greased and oil changed on March 5, 1966. I had 20,184 miles. Why, even today, I only have 31,500 miles on me! I still have my original insurance policy in my glove box. I have been lucky. After my first owner for 3 months, Annie kept me 17 years. My next owner bought me from Annie's estate and kept me 15 years. He took good care of me and had lots of my mechanics repaired. My next owner had me 3 years, but then my next owner, wow! He had me 20 years and he was wonderful to me. He did so many things I could not count them. Clutch, gaskets, engine overhaul; just on and on! Him and his wife like me 'cause when they got married in 1950, they bought a used car same as me to go on their honeymoon. My next owner only had me two years and I spent some time at a car dealer with a lot of other old cars. I have lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and now I live in Michigan where I started. I live in Brighton, not far from Detroit. But I heard the factory where I was made is gone. Oh well, I am still going. My new owner, Jim, bought me in June of 2006 in Canton, Ohio. He drove me all the way home on something called a turnpike. Wow! I had to drive 65 MPH most of the way. It was 92° and I kinda got a bit warm, so Jim cut me back to 60MPH and I was fine. Just since Jim bought me, he has driven me 1,000 miles and I have been in 4 shows! In 2000, my 5th owner who had me 20 years, well he put me in "1st Annual Show of National Chrysler Products Club(Buckeye Region)". I took second place. My owner was not too happy 'cause I lost 1st to a restored 1948 convertible!! I got a score of 92.4. Not bad. Anyway, in August, Jim had an outside sun visor put on me and some minor body work done; scratches and that kinda thing. Last week he bought a newDodge Magnum. Can you believe an old gal like me, spending my nights in a dark garage with a youngin like that!? Get out of town!
