Good mornin' and Happy New Years Eve folks!
I hope everyone it gettin' really wrecked tonight! But be responsible and stuff too!
I have the day off, tho my wife works. We won't be going anywhere or doing anything special. I'm too old for that. We'll just be at home with our little one watchin' the countdown on tv. It's gonna be weird without Dick Clark!

Good Morning everyone!!!
snow hammering even Oklahoma and Texas!!
A lot of rain so the southern states as well today, all of that will be moving northeast so the eastern coast expect some snow/rain tonight and tomorrow!
The west looks generally quiet besides some rain moving into Washington/Oregon.
Everyone stay safe tonight!

I sure hope that precipitation stays on the coast like they're predicting. The thermometer hasn't made it above 30° yet and my weather station recorded a high of 37° over the last 24 hours. If it does roll in from the coast it may not be in the form of rain...

Ground temp doesn't always predict rain/snow! sometimes higher up in the troposphere it could actually be warmer, especially near the pacific ocean it is very hard to predict weather there due to winds coming off of the ocean and also the mountains have a great impact on what the weather will do no matter which side of it you are on! it can rain at 30 degrees although it very well will freeze on the ground, so watch for some icy spots if it stays at 30 degrees! if it is clear now and 30 degrees, cloud cover actually keeps warmth in so temps could go up as the rain comes in! the 30-34 degree mark is so hard to predict what will happen!
