David, here's my advice: get some nicotine gum (I know, it's expensive). You need to replace the nicotine in your system without inhaling the harmful smoke of the cigarette. The craving for a cigarette goes away in a few days - take it from someone who knows!

Ive tried patchs,smokeless cigarettes,cold turkey..with poor results..

I never even thought about the gum thing...
Im not much on gum chewing in the first place...lol
So, this might be the avenue I need to follow..?

Good Morning MCF . &:45 am here in Surprise, AZ. Looks to be a cool down for a few days . Plus VERY windy today! So the New Awnings have to be rolled up and other things put away out of harms way ... We have some old friends from our Michigan Ridin days. They moved out here last yr after Diane finally retired. So drinks & dinner and some B ball are the order of the day. Got some things to get done before they get here. NO telling how long this day is going to be . Guess it depends on how long the drinks last . ha ha ha ha. ok got to make a coffee run...........Back in a few mins

 

PART 2. . Dave I hope you get the chance to read this. if not I will text you!!!! Look BUD! When it comes to your health Bud. Smoking should take a back seat! I started smoking at 17. When my Mom caught me I thought that was the end of it . But picked it up again once I joined the Navy. Even after I got out of the Navy and started to work at a automobile factory. I still smoked and I went thru 4 pkgs in a 24 hrs . Then one day I got sick with the flu. Went to the doctor and was told to quit smoking or your health was going to take a downward trend. Then HE MADE me sit thru a movie back then no videos. It was about people that smoked had a rougher time getting better and the movie was GROSS!!! Brething tubes coming out of poeples mouth while in the hospital!! My God that made me sick to my stomach. I was sicker after watching that. then I was with the flu . But I told myself on the way home Boy you have to quit NOW!!! I threw my Lucky's out the window and never looked back. The habit of putting something in your mouth every two mins. Went ot suckers Tootie pops . Dave IF I can quit after smoking close to 4 pkgs a day SO CAN YOU! If someone tells you you can DIE from that! Why would you still do something like that ? The older you get. The more you see how your NOT so Bullet proof ! Stop now. And live a LOT longer...... YOUR MINNESOTA FRIEND

Mornin' everyone - Hope all is well. Well... Sunday I took off the EGR Valve on the '98 LS 3.1 & cleaned the Ports going to both the throttle body & exaust. cleaned the EGR pinter also with Sea Foam spray. (I had a code P1401 which is "Clean EGR Flow" on the OBDII tester) Light is still on & some say I might have to drive 30+ miles to get it to go off -- or "Re-boot" Computer. We'll see what happens!

Looks like we're gonna get some rain out here in the Flatlands!
