Afternoon all, buick wouldn't start today. Guess i better get to finding a new alternator.

Good evening everyone. I am out to eat tonight. Not sure what's going on later. Hope everyone is having a good day.

 

Pretty sure the starter is fine, but i'm having alternator issues. Message in dic a few days ago saying charging system failure. Ran ok yesterday but i guess it ran the battery down and just didn't have the power to start today. There has been a hot electrical smell coming from under the hood for the last week or so and there is a whine now too.

 

Get the battery tested first, it sounds like an alternator, but I would try the battery.

Oh and whatever it is, have fun replacing it in that bay

 

I'm betting alternator, batteries dont usually give off hot electrical smell and they certainly don't whine lol, and yes whatever i replace will be fun.

 

Evening everyone had 3 meetings today at work, two were for performance related issues with workers and the third was just a one to one with my assistant manager to see how things have been going with the new supervisors.

Keane that sucks about the alternator, I agree the buick is too new for that too happen, but anything mechanical can break at any time unfortunately
