This isn't easy for me, but here it goes. Last night we lost a member of the MCF staff, and a part of the family of the automotive/motorcycle community. David Smith suffered a heart attack last night. He didn't survive.
Rest in peace Dave. You will be missed.
Lou

This is very sad news for me. I haven't heard from him for quite a while, but David was one of my best MCF friends. I had already been thinking about him often. He was absolutely pivotal in my 2013 MOTY "campaign" and my acceptance speech thanked him specifically without naming him. I'll always be super grateful for his support and friendship and I won't soon forget him.
Thanks for passing the message along Lou

Awful news for an amazing person.
David was one of the most selfless members that we have ever had. He was a great friend to all, and a great person to share this common interest that we all have.
He will be sorely missed, and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones.
RIP Buddy, ride on!

Wow this is sad!
Wow this is sad!
David was a friend not only here but on FB as well.
We shared the Same kind of Monte Carlo he had a Black 5th Gen, and so did I.
I recall that he had indicated he wished we could meet with the Montes sometime.
He will be missed I will say a prayer in his honor. Rest in Peace!!

Hello all I just had to drop in and pay respects to a wonderful gear head and friend David Smith.
He will certainly be missed by every one that knew him. Still trying to wrap my head around this loss

Very sad news to see today when I was glancing over the forum. I was looking forward to seeing Dave at the Michigan Spring meet on May 20th.
I had not seen him since Fall 2015 if I remember correctly. I got to know Dave quite well after spending a weekend at the Monte Nationals in Richmond, IN in 2013. That was a real fun time that year. We would catch up at various meets in 2014 and 2015 along with Matt and Tadd The Clinton MI Fall festival was one event I remember just to name one. Dave was a real good guy and always invited me back to his place for a couple beers after a meet. We would chat for a while before I made my way back home to Ontario. My thoughts go out to Dave's wife and family. I will miss him.
