Default MI Weather

So for those of you who do not live in Michigan, (as much as I love MI), be thankful. Today we have a tornado watch, and Sunday we are supposed to get a wintry mix of rain and snow. Some of you are thinking "I don't care what the weather is in MI, so why are you posting?" My friend and I were talking last night as we were fabbing up a bracket for my strut tower brace (because I'm too cheap to buy a bracket set) and we were talking about how MI is BRUTAL on cars. At any given point in the winter, it can reach as cold as 40 below zero with the windchill during the night. The day after it could reach 30, 40 degrees outside. Then when winter turns to spring, we get 15-20 degree nights and 50-70 degree days. (It usually isn't THAT drastic, but bear with me) Think about what that does to seals, bushings, and other parts that have to expand and contract. YIKES!

You don't realize but you just posted some very important information.

Why? Cause this weekend was "SUPPOSE" to be the Montes@MIS event which was cancelled.

You told a lot of us who don't live in MI what the weekend would have been like for our cars IF the event had gone on as planned.

HOLY CRAP!!! I totally forgot, probably because by the time I found out about it, it had already been cancelled. Yeah..MIS is really close to where I live, so the weather wouldn't vary THAT much. I'm glad that the even was cancelled though--it would have been a bad time. We have a pretty impressive storm cloud looming close as I type, so I'm getting ready for hopefully a good thunderstorm and nothing more.

Adrian isn't real far from where my girlfriend grew up. (Temperance)

Her dad had a Church in Adrian when they first moved to MI in 1970 when she was 2 years old.

Brooklyn, MI where the track is located is a bit farther away.

Yeah I live about 20 minutes away from Brooklyn. I have a few friends who are from Temperance. I grew up about 2 and a half hours north of MIS though. I like this are, it's nice.

I just finished watching the weather on Detroit's channel 7.
Tornado watches, potential hail storm tonight, and sunday is supposed to be 43 degrees with a mix of snow and rain.

THIS SUCKS!!!

Ya, the weather SUCKS here lately! 70 deg's one day, and snow the next! We had a tornado in Allegan take down a horse barn this week, and the same storm had our power off and on 5 times between 12:30am and 5:30 am. Rough night! Daffodils ready to bloom, or have bloomed, and now snow again.

Fortunately for my family, the storms went around us. Our friends who live about 20 minutes southeast of us, lost power due to the storm that went through their neck of the woods. They called us up and asked if they could hang outand we said yeah...they get here and out power goes out...for only like 10 minutes, but it was funny.

We bought a generator last fall. Thankfully we haven't had to use it yet, but we will! It's Subaru powered 5500 watt.
