g'afternoon everyone!!! hope everyone is having a great day!

i've been running around all day and now i'm back at school waiting for the chem study session to open up blahhh! I had my interview at the emergency animal hospital today. Mandy (the employer) was really impressed that I have already had experience with animal health through the wildlife center and another vet hospital a few years back. I'm really hoping its enough because apparently she has several interviews to go through the rest of this week and so I should know by next week if I'm in or not. Really hoping that I am! I feel like I made a great impression but I've been wrong before so who knows! I just don't know if I can wait allll weekend to find out lol. Oh yeah and I got lost going to the radio station to drop off an application today, what should have taken me ten minutes took me over an hour, and I accidently ran a red light and thought I broke something in my car. Fun day so far! But I'm excited about Friday because my boyfriend is letting me help him take the supercharger off his cobra before we go to the movies that night =D I've never done that before so I'm really stoked to get some hands on experience with that.

But anyway I guess I'd better get off and try to see if the session is open yet. Have a great afternoon y'all! =D

Whats up everyone. It was an extremely tough day. My first 4 classes were 6th and 7th graders and they went fine. the last two classes were 8th graders and they were hell. The kids refused to do any work and were blatantly defiant. I refuse to let 36 kids ruin this year for me. Time to be a jack *** teacher I guess. Anyone have any ideas for dealing with teenagers who refuse to do there work? lol

Brittany, good luck with the job search and have fun working on the cobra.

Michael, we will have a west coast meet up one of these days. It may not be until next summer, but I will need a long road trip one of these days.

todd, that sucks about the 8th graders. you could give them a choice of A) reading something easy like the outsiders if they are good or B) war & peace if they are bad.... idk if i can help ya in that department, man, i do know that classes like that are never as easy to win over as they are in the movies, i should know, ive been stuck in classes like that myself, heck i beat the hell outta this one kid just 'caus he riped up an essay of mine that was on my friends desk... the kid had a problem with my friend, so he tore it up..... so i wailed him in the face with the binding side of a mathbook, lol. and people say im easygoing, lol.

hey, i just thought of something.... if they are reading you could let em listen to their i-pods quietly if they can finish their reading.... ya gotta keep a close eye on em, but the music kinda acts as blinders towards other distractions in the class, and i know that earns teachers uber brownie points in our school caus most teachers take em away... and that gives you a class privalage you could take away if everyone takes advantage of it

Aww sorry ya had a tough day! hmmm idk. I was gonna be a teacher but I was afraid that my low tolerance for disrespect and stuff like that would cause me to murder one of the kids lol. So I decided for my sake and the kids sake I had better not. But yeah I really don’t know what to tell ya! Sorry =[ and thanks! Have fun trying to deal with those kids =D

Thanks foe the idea. Unfortunately they had to many fights and stolen ipods last year so they are out all together.

The classes I teach are remedial for kids who are not passing reading on our state test. It uses one of their 2 electives so they are already mad. There also is a culture in the 8th grade that getting a is the worst thing you could do. Better to get an f. All they have to do is come to class and do their work and they pass. On top of everything else I have no materials or supplies as they were not ordered until this week so I am having to make stuff up.

Oh well enough complaining, at least I have a job and JJ where the heck are you.
