Mornin all. TGIS! The weekend is FINALLY here! Get to deal with cars today, and of course mow the lawn. Headed down to Tire rack this mornin' 1st thing to get some new rubber on the Intimidator. GREAT deal on a REALLY good tire. They are a close out, cuz they are the stock tire on the Solstice GXP and the SKY Redline. Since they quit making those cars 3 weeks ago, Goodyear has an overstock of tires for those cars, and Tire Rack is selling them CHEAP! We've put 20K on our set on Lucy, and they still have a ton of tread. So for 4 bills + M,B, &T, and a $50 rebate, why not! Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....1=yes&place=47

Then I get to change the oil filter on the Solstice. Got a GREAT deal on NAPA Gold filters several months ago, so I stocked up on those. I'm running Castrol Edge oil in her.

Then on to the truck. I developed a noise in her Monday night. I at 1st thought I dropped a muffler. Pulled into college and parked, and nothing dragging. Wheels were tight, so not a bad bearing. I thought I lost a u-joint at that point. So I limped her home. Tuesday night I went to crawl under her to check it out. I hopped in the truck, went to set the parking brake, and almost slammed my foot thru the floor. Evedintly, something broke in the parking brake system, and that's what was dragging. I put it in neutral and crawled under tho check out the u-joints, and they were fine. SOOOO, I get to tear apart the parking brakes and find out what broke. I'm guessing the cable end, but we'll see.

I gotta finish getting ready to go to South Bend for tires, so I'll chat later all.

And, THANK YOU my MCF family for the prayers sent up for my Mom. That was a SERIOUS answer to prayers last week. The way things developed could NOT have turned out better. You guys (AND gals!) are THE best! I'm a member on many forums, but this is the only one that feels like family. I've met several of you, and I hope to meet more of you in the future. Space, when you coming to Michigan?

Have a GREAT weekend MCFr's!

Hey all. I just got back from Tire Rack. FABULOUS business. You go there and you feel like you are going to a large industrial warehouse. Wait a minute you ARE! Not like any other tire store. This place is HUUUUGE! The sales desk is more like a receptionist area for a large corp', and it is. The wheel showroom has 100's of samples on display. I believe every wheel they handle is on display.

One of the things I like about them is they do real world testing, along with test track analysis.

But on the weekends, they open up their test track to the public for autocross events. This weekend is the Elkhart Corvette Club's event. Normally, pretty much all the Corvette owners AND the Corvette club's we run into, the biggest issue for them is where they're going to meet for coffee next. NEVER have I seen a Corvette running hard. Last year at the Tail of the Dragon was no exception.

Well, these Corvette guys run HARD on the Tire Rack track! I watched 1 put his iinto the grass while I was there. Lot's of the cars were trailerd in. One drove up from TN.

Makes me want to run the Solstice there on a SCCA weekend!

Have a GREAT weekend all!
