Good morning all. Yesterday was my dog's 10th birthday. My wife kept track. She made the dog a cake and everything... Today I am trying to get on the day schedule.

Morning All.

Mel - Happy Birthday to your son. I remember those 'Chucky Cheese' days. Mine are older now, so no more Chucky Cheese.

Miller - Happy Burthday to your dog. 10 is getting up there in doggie years.

Dustin - I'm sorry to hear about your gf's problem with her mom. Hard to believe she'd do that.

Gotta take the driver's side door panel off on my old car today to see what parts I need to fix it. The connecting rod between door handle and door latch mechanism broke. I have to reach across the passenger seat or leave the window partially down to reach the inside handle to open the door. With any luck, it won't rain today.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Thanks, Miller.

Quick look the other day told me what the problem is. Now I need to dig around the bottom inside of the door to find the part(s) that broke. Hopefully it's just a connector which I can fabricate if not replace directly. Most parts are surprisingly easy to get for this car. But something like this might have to come from a salvage.

Do you get to work days next week, or are you on nights for a while?

I worked night all this week and next week I go to days. I stayed up all day yesterday to get back on a "normal" schedule. The environment isn't really that bad. For a prison... Most of the guys there just want to do their time and go home. It's a LOT different from Fort Sill and Guantanamo Bay. It's kind of a random mix of the two.

During my tour of the USDB years ago, I thought it seemed really low-key for a high security prison. Then again, the inmates are all military, not just average joe's off the street. And of course it's run as a military outfit. So I guess it makes sense. Kinda nice for folks like you who have to work there. Not so hostile an environment.

Glad to hear you're going back to days! Working nights gets old fast.
