It was the engine block heater, or coolant heater. For whatever reason, it cracked or something and failed. They're probably going to put a regular freeze plug in it. Does this happen often with these heaters?
Well, it'll have fresh antifreeze now! LOL I'll definitely switch it every 2 years if not sooner. Who knows if it was the original Dex-Cool, but it was dealer serviced at least semi-regularly. It has that white gunk the GM dealers around here seem to like to use on door and hood hinges.
doin pretty good mike. not so sure about the monte right now, and working the graveyard shift is starting to get old, haha, but at least i have some extra $ for once to put towards the monte's woes
your car's lookin good man. i havent really gotten to check out any pics you posted, but looks sweet in the sig pic
i think the white lithium grease is on his car's hinges. although that coulda been put there by a PO too.... who knows if it was the dealer.
guess that explains why i had mud in the overflow tank when i bought the car. probibly why my intake gaskets are coming apart fast...
and the sig looks good!

And sure, previous owners could have used it, but I just remember the Chevy dealer where I bought my last Chevy brand new used it on all the cars they serviced.
Damn, that was expensive. $102.70. I haven't seen the details of the bill yet. I guess it was worth it, I would have had to have a rollback bring the car home and then fix it myself.
