Default Good Afternoon!

Just finished Wash & Wax on the Black '98 LS. Used McGuires paste wax &
my 8" lambs wool buffer.I have to say it looks darn good for Original Paint. Still saving money -so
we can eventually do a liquid flame job on hood flowing off to the sides.

Looks like I need to be the Windshield washer pump put in the tank soon -
it's getting cold here in KS.

Take care everyone!

-Mark.

Hey Mark!

It's amazing what some of the members here have done with the stock factory paint. It took them a lot of hard detailing work, but they got their factory paint job looking smooth as glass. I have to admit, I wouldn't have the patience needed.

Can't wait to see the flame job. I'm wondering if you're doing something similar to what moderator SoCalSS did on his Monte. If so, it should look damn cool! I'll attach a pic or two if you haven't seen his.

that'll look cool. i've been wanting to replace the burnt out backlights on my factory radio with red LED's for a while now. guess thats on hold 'till i get the damn thing to stop leaking all its coolant.

not much going on here, hope all is well for everyone.
my dad was going through his old hot rod magazines last night, he's gotten to the last little bit from the late 80's & '90's, i look in the stack and which issue is tucked in there? august '96, with this as the cover car:

there was also a neat questionaire that hot rod planned to send into chevrolet trying to convince them to build a RWD V8 monte carlo. cool part is how some of the things mentioned on the form actually did happen for the 6th & 7th gen crew, like:

question #4a "would you be interested in a special "signature" edition, such as a dale earnhardt edition, with race car graphics?"

#11a "would you consider buying a high- performance virsion of a monte carlo if it were a FWD V6?" (hey, they stuck a supercharger on 'em")

#11b "would you consider buying a high-po virsion of a monte carlo if it where a FWD V8?"
(think '06-7 SS)

Ryan thats cool.

Evening all. Hope everyone had a good day. Got an update on the Engine for the Camaro. I had asked the mechanic to call back on the rebuilt engine with a 5 year 100k warranty. I asked him to see if they can put an LS1 hot cam kit in it and what heads it would come with. The best factory heads were 243's (ls1 corvette), 241's (00-02 Camaro/Firebird) then a few other castings and then the ones I have on my block were the bottom of the barrel. When they called the rebuilder he said no problem on the cam kit and that it would still have its 5 year 100k warranty and what heads did I want? Sounds like I may able to get the Corvette heads. My mechanic is calling me back tomorrow with prices and options. Only problem with this option is I have to send my old Longblock back for a core charge so we can't put it in JJ's GMC.
