Morning all. Got thunderstorms rolling thru today. It just quit storming for a few, but I got to head NW to work, so I'm going to be driving back into it. I'm going to wait a few before I leave. 3 years ago I drove thru a bad storm and the Intimidator paid dearly for it, with a limb crashing down onto the car while I was driving. I was OK, but $2K+ damage to the car.

I'm just hangin in here, waiting for my coffee as usual. I'm still sick, but on a good note, I think I feel a little better than I did yesterday. I hope thats a sign that it will soon be gone.
Wayne, wow, I never heard that story...2K worth of damage from a tree. Geez, that sucks. Glad that got fixed.

G'day folks!
2 weeks ago my 18 yr old nephew got his license. His father is a deadbeat, so to be a good uncle I got him a car. Not a Monte, but a decent, solid '98 Taurus Wagon with the Duratec. I thought is was a pretty good choice for a first car, because everyone destroys their first car, right?.....
It took him less then 2 weeks. Wednesday night he was broadside by a transport truck running a light. My newphew was turning left and misjudged the trucks intentions. All 3 teenagers in the car were fine! Nobody even went to the hopital, even though the truck carried the car through the intersection.
Obviously the car is a complete loss. He didn't have collision insurance, so he won't get a nickel for the car. Was my money wasted? I hardly think so. I see the glass as more then half full. I spent $2000 to make sure my nephew survived his first car accident. If I had left this decision to anyone else he would have been in something smaller, cheaper and deadlier. I chose that Taurus because of how wide the doors were. You could say with that $2000 I made myself a Prophet ...
