Morning all. Headed out shortly to go see Dad (93) for Father's day. Taking the Olds. It'll be a 6 hr trip at 60 instead of 4 hrs at 80, but that's the way it is. The transmission or torque convertor is dumping a LOT of fluid. I'm told it's probably a cracked convertor. So the tranny in the Intimidator will be coming out next weekend, (ya, I know, Nationals next weekend) for the THIRD time! If it's the convertor, this will be the 4th torque convertor for this car!
Anyway,

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all you Fathers out there!

Have a GREAT weekend!

ALSO, I got an e-mail last night from one of the local tool shops. He's interested in hiring me. I'd rather stay where I'm at, but this will give me some leverage to get a raise where I'm at, and things are doing well where I'm at.This is a GREAT thing!

happy birthday brock!

and happy saturday to everyone else! been a busey week for me, started full time on my wacko hours on wednesday, i have monday's & wednesday's working from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm, tuesday's and thursdays working 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm, and fridays working 9:30 to 5:00. but the good news is after working for half a week our union got the district to approve a raise for everyone, so after 3 days i got a $1.25 / hr raise, lol

anyways, im just taking a brake from cleaning the wheels on the monte, so that they'll be ready for the DWG show ( next saturday ).

i also am looking into buying a small 4x4 pickup for in the winter. i know the montes are good in the snow, but my car still has a dead spot in the throttle that will make it easy to get stuck, plus the way into work is nothing but 90* corners that all seem to be uphill to boot. one of the guy's at work spotted an '87 jeep J10 pickup for sale near him, its red with a white cap, and it has 24,000 miles on it, new tires & exaust. guy wants $4,000 OBO, so i might go look at that today.

the truck looks sorta like this:

After a trip to Costco for some tri-tip I'll start to install the ham radio. Rig is an Icom 208H, it has a minuscule control panel that will hide between the mirror and the overhead console. The main radio guts will go under the passenger seat. I have already installed the dual-band antenna on the trunk lid, routed the antenna coax to the cabin, ran my 4 gauge wire from the engine bay to the trunk. Will be back on the air next week, QST.

Goal is a sano stealth installation. I've contemplated several different options and settled on this one. I've been getting pictures of the preperation for a how-I-done-it post.
