Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
As some of you know, Dad and I replaced the power steering pump on the Bonneville Saturday. Then yesterday, my girlfriend and I took a drive to Santa Cruz, and spent a little time by the ocean.
Half the rides on the Boardwalk were open too, so we went on a couple roller coasters while we were there. Its always fun to hear the waves crashing as you're flying on a roller coaster! Then we walked down the Wharf and had a nice dinner! The weather was really nice, about 66 degrees, and partly cloudy/ sunny.

It was pretty fun! The sunset was awesome too...if only I had a camera on me at the time, I would have shared. It had tons of deep orange, and pink in it!
Anyway, here is a copy past of some of my Blog post from Saturday. If anyone even has IDEAS of what the problem could be causing this whine that sounds JUST LIKE the typical bad power steering pump, I would appreciate if you share your thoughts. Thank you!
I spent a good part of this afternoon with my Dad replacing the power
steering pump in the Bonneville. Its been making this dreaded whining noise, especially around 2500 and 3000 RPM. It sounds identical to the noise that my Monte was making when the power steering pump crapped out. Well, after replacing the power steering pump, and test driving, the noise is still there! AGH! Now we don't know what the heck is making the noise??????? Maybe the alternator bearing. I was spining the pully on the alternator while the serpentine belt was off, and it was pretty noisey, and had a light sqeak noise to it. So maybe its the alternator. HMMMMMMMMMMM!
At least the new power steering pump was only $65 bucks. And it really was not that hard to replace. If anyone needs a new power steering pump, I highly recommend doing it yourself. Save LOTS of money, and like I said, its really do able.
