Well, I'm home from work. Space, I managed to find an open access wi-fi connection at work. But it only works in a certain part of the building, so I was only able to access it during my lunch break. This site shows up really small on an iPod touch. Oh, well. At least I was lucky enough to have it.
Hope everyone is having a great day at work, or enjoying the last few days before school.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD morning everyone. Let me tell you how AWESOME of a weekend I had! OMG

So Friday night I got to go out to a party at my friend's, she's moving so we had an end of the lease party. That was a blast, got home around 2am. All rain Friday night, had me dreading the whole weekend for weather because I really wanted to get this engine work done...
So Saturday rolls around, (the big day) I woke up at 8am to get ready. My buddy was going to show up somewhere between 10-12 and I wanted to be dressed and had breakfast made and such. He had to run to the store before he came over, so he got there closer to 12. So we get to work on my Monte. Starting at about 1230p we started to rip everything apart. (the whole top half of the engine came off) made a few parts runs because we were missing a bolt here, needed a wrench attachment there, broke a coolant elbow (bastard things) needed to get those replaced and some coolant. Besides that though it was a breeze for all the installs.
When we pulled the UIM off I noticed a little oil pooling in 2 sections, which meant that my gasket that the HV3 was replacing had worn, therefore I am lucky to do this before that problem got worse. Also when doing the rockers I found out that my front valve cover had a tiny leak, which again was a gasket that I was replacing. I saw that my belt was a little more worn than I would like to see so I was able to replace that.
The Powerlog was a breeze to put on, not troubles there, no exhaust leaks, it's nice. Then while the engine was torn apart I was able to clean injectors and everything, the car idles SOOO smooth now.
As far as tuning this is where Saturday night kind of sucked. We had A HUGE storm come through, which prevented us from doing the street tune, so we are going to do that another day. But we were able to change all of the things that didn't require driving around like shift points, line pressures, took out codes etc. So the car does drive differently already, but I have to wait to get all my timing adjusted properly.
All in all it was a huge success (and the car started right up after we put the engine back together) now I just can't wait to get this tune completed so I can finally be done
Unfortunately since we were pressed for time I was not able to take any pictures. We were battling a moving storm and I didn't want to risk having it downpour when I had the top half of the engine off. But it was a success and I am soo happy to have done this.

Good morning all. Mike, nice work. I can't wait to see what you think after the tune.
Space they changed our official day back to tomorrow, budget issues. So today will be one of relaxing and moving things around. Tomorrow is the first day back. The next tuesday the kids come back. It will be nice to get paychecks coming again.

God i HATE clients sometimes....i've been here since 5:23am, and the phone had not rang 1 freakin time...So finally it rang, and its my biggest client..."Michael, where is our labor?" i'm like, what labor? they said "we called at 6:30 requesting a labor asap, and you never sent them...we need someone now...I was like, sorry, but I never got a phone call, i've been here since 5:30 and the phone has not rang all morning. But no problem, i'll get you someone right now...she said ok, but we did call, I heard my tech talking to you...ahhhhhhhhhh ok i'm not going to argue with you b*tch, I know for a fact i'm not loosing it that bad, the f'in phone has not rang...maybe you should ask your tech who he called, cause it sure as hell was not me...

Hi `Mike, great to read that the weather held `out for you
to complete your installation. Wish you had time to take pic's,
but I sure understand try'in to beat Mother Nature's moods.
Look forward to updates after you get your tune & how it performs.
You should also get better MPG's `if you stay off a heavy pedal

Thanks for letting your family know how it went.
You sure have alot of auto knowledge, and we appreciate you
sharing it with our membership/family.
EnJoy your new Power 4-Sure.

well, im bAAAAAAaaaaaaak! wow, what a day.... it actually went very smoothly, got to see all my tech buddies which was cool, and i drove the monte up to my highschool. so i figured i would leave it there for the day, save my gas & wear on the car and ride the bus down to tech.... i think its around 36 miles one way..... so tech goes good, but the ride home was all F***ed up, we usually have to make a transfer about halfway if we wanna go back to school for sports or to get our cars, and another that heads back down to other developments.... soooo aparently they combined the transfer busses, from 3 routes into one long one! yha, so i got outta tech at 2:15, got to the monte at 4:30!! that SUCKED!!!! but otherwise it went good.... oh, i pissed off my one buddie who always brags to other prople about his dodge 3/4 ton pickup.... 98 with the 360 / auto.... anyways he always jokes with me about how he would leave my FWD 3.1 v6 monte in the dust..... so anyways following him home i stuck to him like glue, lol, he was speechless
