Sunday a real pretty snow we had yesterday! The neighbor even made a snowman. Still a bit chilly out but that should be getting better.
Hope you all are well. Stay safe! Stay Calm!
Remember the news is all lies!
God Bless you all!

It's been a while since I stopped in and posted. Been a busy few months for me. I started a new job and have been slowly plugging away at rust repair and updates on the Monte. I officially have completed the worst side quarter panels and rockers with new metal from the front fenders I got last fall and have minimal rust repair on the passenger side. I've also put lighter springs in the coilovers to lower a tiny bit more and have a new 9.75 inch stall convertor being shipped tomorrow. Should be a big improvement from the stock 12 inch one and free up around 20 hp. I hope everyone is ready for spring to finally come to us still dealing with the cold. Stay safe everyone and please don't hoard things at the store , the elderly people need supplies as much or more than tha average person who can make trips out in public easier.

Good morning guys.

Beautiful day yesterday, made it up to 42 degrees but felt warmer with the sun. I got out and burned quite a bit of brush and leaves during the afternoon. Filled up the daily late last week for $2.09/gal. We do Kroger pick up thru ordering online - I stopped on Friday to get our order and had to wait 15 minutes just to get into a pick up spot and, no surprise, they were out of a lot of things. We just want to get our normal ration of stuff that we always get every couple weeks but can't due to the majority freaking out and hoarding essentials . We all need to be doing our part to help stop the spread but panicking is one thing we shouldn't be doing.

Wow the wind was howling last night here in Central NE. Today was trash day so I set the tote out last night and I pulled it back in this morning at 3:AM from the wind that woke me up.
I was concerned it would flip over.
But now the Sun is out the sky is beautiful blue. Might be a good day to take some photo's

Good afternoon all, Gas prices here in central NE have come down to 1.91 for 87 super unleaded close to what it was back in Feb down in Texas where the lowest I paid was at $1.78 and that was regular unleaded
Stay safe out there!

Good morning guys.

Day #2 of our 3-week 'shelter in place' order in Michigan. I'm working from home now, wife has been since last week. Latest numbers coming out of Michigan are 1,791 confirmed cases and 24 related deaths. Hospitals are on the brink of capacity. Cheapest gas here in the Ann Arbor area is $1.70 (last I filled up I got it for $1.89). Traffic is extremely light, even on our heavier traveled freeways as shown below.

Good morning,

Day #4 of our 3-week 'shelter in place' order in Michigan. Michigan's cases are still on the rise and have jumped to 5th in the Country in confirmed cases with 2,856 and 60 deaths - Wayne County (Detroit) alone is becoming a hot spot and now has the 2nd highest in the Country in confirmed cases with 1,389 and 26 deaths. Local hospitals are still pushing capacity. The wife and I went out to pickup groceries yesterday and filled up her truck for $1.59.

Wow that is a super low gas price from the early 90's I think. Stay safe!

Well, right now I have a whole week off from work that was already scheduled a month or so ago, but thanks to the outbreak I'm all gassed up with nowhere to go, really.

So, one of the things I sometimes do as a pastime (mostly just out of curiosity) is to go check out a few car lots to see if there's anything interesting.
For example, right now in Omaha there are three 7th-gen Monte Carlo SSs for sale.

First up, there's this 2007 SS, black with silver stripes, looking clean all around and in good condition:

On the same lot, there's also this silver 2006 SS, in a more ragged shape, esp. along the lower body:

And it took a hit on its right rear panel, too.

As for the third one (on a different lot), it's this white '06 SS, which looks rather better:

Until you look at its wheels, all of which have this gnarly crackling deterioration going on (clearcoat gone bad, I guess?):

So all in all I was just casually checking out the cars, not really shopping for one. Just every so often, I like to check out something I might like to drive next, and if it's in reach (budget-wise), just in case.

Still glad to have my special '95, which is doing fine, and I'm sure not done with it yet!
