Cool Lola is all fixed

i was charged $4.20 to have my tire fixed because they replaced the stem and balanced it after putting in the plug. but she is again roadworthy . but i have a dumb question what do you guys keep your psi at for the best gas mileage. remember i have the 205 70 R15 wheels lately ive been keeping them at 40 psi the tires maximum is 44.

Car reccomends 30 for all tires besides spare, i keep mine at 35. Over or under inflating alot isn't smart. Affects tire wear and changes your level of contact with the road.

Run what the door placard says, not what the tire wall says. Max PSI is the maximum PSI before the tire can blow out, not a measurement in which to fill the tire.

Also as tires heat up (driving) air expands, you need to give it room.

You can't tell pressure by view, just because it looks low doesn't mean it is. It means that the whole tire is being used as a contact patch like it is supposed to be.

You have soft sidewalls, you aren't running a low-profile tire.

When I had my 95 Lumina that door and lock was always freezing up on me. I was very used to climbing in through my passenger door (glad I had a bench front seat!)
