You could go to F W Woolworth and get really neat Toys, actually some of the first Mattel toys were sold there, back in late 1989- early 90's they had one in Scotts Bluff, NE. That was a walk back thru time. You are right about the era as well the real Dale and I were the same age, it freaks people when I tell them 150 days separated our birthdays, and they go you can divide that by #3,
and I am like so what? 
Some days it's like the rest of the world is having a "Kelly Bundy moment" and I am watching it all happen. 
Stay safe my friend you are gonna see some beautiful country on this trip. and if you get to see the Little Big Horn Battle field you will be in awe.
