I just got home from visiting my grandfather,he is in a nursing home and glad he is there.He can't take care of himself anymore,has severe dementia and I had to remind him I am his grand daughter Candice.I love him a lot and see him twice a week.He is 89 years old and was glad to see me.My father was there too,his father and my father told me the bad news from the doctors.My grandfather's health is going down,his heart is getting weak day by day.Surgery is not an option,doctors said it was not a good option saying he could die on the operating table and I understand.My grandfather wants to be with my grandmother badly whom passed away 2 years ago.I will always remember him as a very good grandfather and loved my sister Amanda and I equally the day he goes.

 

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, you're in my prayers, at least we all know that he will be in a better place and he will get to be with your grandmother again.

Sad, at least he knows you are taking care of his ride for him.

 

He knows I am taking care of his ride very well.My grandfather knows my grandmother is waiting for him.He is no spring chicken anymore.My father knows he is going to go and it maybe weeks or monthes when it happens

 

IMO you are doing the right thing. Cherish the time you have left with him. And tell him you love him...

 

Least I have my husband,my step daughters Nikki and Cassie including my step son Caleb for support.I am glad my step daughters make the time to spend some time with him.My step son is the same way when I take him with me.I have tons of memories.One is a dance with him when I got married to my husband Micheal 3 years ago.My grandfather told my step children to say I love to me sometimes lately.
