Hi guys, I haven't been here much because I have hit a very rough spot in my life. A month ago I was laid off of my job and unemployment isn't enough to pay the bills and even if I get a part time job doing retail or something, I can only earn a certain amount or they start deducting from my benefits. I also tried to get health insurance on my own but I can barely do that because I am "high risk" because I have Crohns Disease. [:@] The health insurance business in this country sucks big time. I have the option to do COBRA at an insane price. I am trying real hard not to sell my Mini, but it's been really rough. I work in a vary narrow field so finding a job is very difficult. I hope something happens real soon because I would just die if I had to sell the Mini and subject my Monte to another Chicago winter.

Also, 2 weeks ago my mom went in for lung cancer surgery. Every thing was going good until last Friday when she had trouble breathing. They took her back down to ICU and she had a stress induced heart attack and I almost lost her. They treated her with medication and she is doing better. (She never had a history of high blood pressure or heart disease). The doctors said this type of heart attack is completely reversible, meaning there was no damage to the heart. So she is doing a lot better and I hope she can come home tomorrow or Saturday.

Well, I just had to vent. On the positive side I am taking my Monte to a pretty big car show this Sunday, it will be the first one since I got laid off. Wish me luck!

 

Welcome back. Im sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope your mother is doing well and recovers quickly. Im also sorry about your employment situation. Im sure something will come up. I dont want to see you have to drive your monte in the snow any more than you do.

I'm glad to see you back on the forum Amy. So sorry to hear about the troubles you're having.

Thanks guys. My mom is doing well and she is coming home today. I also got a call back from a great company that I interviewed at so hopefully that will be good new too! I have another interview Tues at 1pm

SORRY to hear you lost your job, AND about your mother! Sometimes it's hard to understand (even impossible!), but everything has a purpose in life. I will keep you in my prayers!
