Default Internet Censorship

The government is coming up with a new way to mess with your minds. Though they're not calling it internet censorship, in a nutshell thats what it'll become. Their plan is a "Stop Online Piracy Act" or SOPA. Which is aimed at all the pirated music and movies. But under this act someone can just go straight to the domain of a website and have it shut down for copyright infringment which basically kills alot of the internet, youtube, facebook, etc. Take a read

House takes Senate's bad Internet censorship bill, tries making it worse

It is all about taxes. The government doesn't collect taxes on pirated music or video.

Content pushers -- uhh Providers could make the system work in their favor with fair pricing to both the creators and the consumers but they rather go the sleazy way and buy the politicians.

These rats are trying to save the sinking ship - if the creators of entertainment can sell direct to the masses the 3-martini lunch crowd will be out of work.

The way I feel about it is if I bought a CD or movie I should be able to share it with whoever I want However I want. I paid for it, it's mine. I know this is not how it is, but, it should be.

I agree. If I buy a book and I want my friend to read it, I can just give it to him. No one is questioned, it's not illegal. Or back in the day when we used to listen to the radio and record on a cassette. Then I could give that tape to a friend and they could copy it. No one got arrested.

We also ALL pay for our internet service. It's not like we have free internet and everything we look at is free.

And people wonder why we as Americans are not liked? By doing stuff like that...forcing forgien people/websites to do what we want. I do not agree with it and it shouldn't be that way and I agree with the above post...if you buy something then you should be able to share it how ever you want.

This just sounds like another tax grab to me.

This is kinda off topic, but this reminds me of the black box that a couple insurance companies are using for "discount" purposes.

Either way, it's big brother watching what you do.
