Default I'm Unsure What To Do?

My dad keeps asking what I want for my '86 Monte.

I thought he was asking cause he wants it? Someone pointed out maybe he's asking cause someone approached him about buying the car? Which I never thought of.

First I have no idea what the car's worth?

And I can't sell it to him. Cause he legally already owns it. I never officially repaid my parents for the car. They gave $2800. I think I repaid like $500 of it? So it's not like I can take any money from my dad for the car.

Come out and ask him why he wants it. If he wants it because HE wants it, give him a deal on it, or better yet, just give it to him. So what ya got into it? $1,500? You'll get it back some day anyways, right? As long as he doesn't get STUPID and SELL IT! Is it in his name now? Make him happy and let him have it back. Maybe then you 2 can go to some shows together, and THAT would be grand, and worth EVERY PENNY.

Does he have a place to store it?

I'm with Wayne RJ. You obviously have that $2800 bothering you. If it bothers you that much, offer it to him minus the $2800 of course. You'd be giving the car up for now. But you still have all the others to help comfort you.

Hi R.J.,
Sit down and just talk with your father...I'm sure that you can work it out 4-Sure...Good Luck

Don't worry, be `happy...get it resolved & everyone will feel better...

That would be really cool if you could attend car shows with your father.

I think I would ask $ 500 invested back for it & then ask him what he thinks is fair...

That's just it. I've asked if he wants the car but he won't answer.

My dad is the type of guy he won't take anything from his kids. He's from the school you give to your kids but don't take from them. (I know a guy who's dad used to give him the dad's weekly paychecks. this guy's parents owned 6 whole blocks of a city which his dad gave him)

I would feel guilty taking anything in the way of money for the car.

Hi R.J., just give him your `love, as he has gave `you!

I think to resolve this issue is for you to sit down with your father & just ask him why he would like to have the 86 ? If he wants it for fun, then just give it to him, but if he wants to resell it, then make out a payment schedule to him...and keep it for your pleasures..

My grandfather is also very stubborn, but we always work things `out ~> in time : )
Wish you good luck on resolving this issue...Not just for you, but for him also...
Life is 2 short 4-Sure...The sooner it's settled, the better for you & family the `End

I've tried to get a straight answer out of my dad about the car.

Once he even started making excuses as to why I wouldn't part with it. I didn't even get a chance to answer before he walked off.

I've told Debbie of the situation and asked her advice? She said she would ask him if he wants the car. I have.

Then a day or few days later he'll mention again if I want to sell the car.

That's why I asked for advice on here.
