Default I did it

Well, I finally did it. My son, who I have promised the Monte to since he was 16 (he's now 18) drove off in it yesterday.

The deal we made was whenI felt he was mature enough and a good enough driver he could have it. He has been driving a '92 Crown Vic for the last year, which I hope makes him really appreciate the Monte. He starts college today, so its a pretty special day. I couldn't let him leave without giving him THE SPEECH, you know, how the Monte means more to me that he does, and if he wrecks it and doesn't die in the wreck then I'll kill him when he gets home, watch out for the girls because they absolute love the car so don't let them take advantage of him just for the car, etc, etc. He knows I was just kidding, we are very close. His come back was "don't ask to be using it, it's mine now!"

I hated to let the car go, but he's a great guy and deserves it.

Hi Randall,
Your son sure is blessed to have a loving, and giving father
4-Sure. I wish him good luck @ school, and good
luck with his new to him awesome Monte Carlo.
He sure is a lucky `kid.
Now, you will have to search for another Monte Carlo..You will
also being going through Monte Carlo withdrawels until
you `do. It is very painful to live without a Monte: )
My grandfather constantly gives me the `Speech, and
I am learning to listen more carefully the older I get : )
Please keep us updated on what you replace your Monte
Carlo with ? `ok
I still try to test drive every Monte Carlo I see on a car lot : )
That is `if they let me. They always do when I pull in
with my grandfather`s Corvette : ), but they always
ask for my DL to check my age.
Good Luck `Randall, we always enjoy your posts on
the MCF, and we hope you stay with us.

I'm gonna have to get something to satisfy my need for speed...

I've been tossing around the idea of something older, full framed, big block, RWD, maybe 66 - 70 chevelle, Impala, etc. Definately chevy, of course!

I'll still be here. I love keeping up with you guys and your many adventures! At my age most of my excitement comes from watching other people do the crazy thingsI used to do.

I hope your son does well at school. And the Monte is in good hands.

Tell him it better not end up looking like this one:
