Dont get me wrong Mike. Lisa and I were very excited to look at the Camaro. Were even thinking that it would be a great car to get after Jonny got my 5th Gen. But once we looked at it, we changed our minds. Went to see the Challenger and loved it. It may not be the fastest one out there, but to us, its nicer then the Camaro.

I'd take a Challenger over a Camaro any day too. Not to say it doesn't have it's flaws as well, but it just seems so much nicer. You can actually see out of it, the seats are like lazy-Boy recliners and it really keeps it's old school roots.

Honestly, I'd rather have a 2011 Mustang with the 5.0L over the new Camaro.

I like the interior of the camaros minus the steering wheel and gauges. The steering wheel needs to have thinner posts like in the concept and the center is way to large. I like the actual layout of the gauges but I dont like the large square housings around them. Ive never sat in one so I dont know what the feel is like, but if it uses materials like in the new malibus and the G8s then that would be cool. The G8 was really a step above the rest of GMs lineup in terms of quality. If they would have just used the same interior as the G8 in the camaro I think it would have been awesome. And now that the G8 is going down with pontiac, it still would have been the only car to use it.

Oh boy... It is clear you have not driven either car yet, but I do realize people have different tastes. So I really do hope you enjoy that 16 spark plug hemi that needs a tune up and spark plug replacement about every 30,000 miles, and road noise is not an issue with you.

On the other hand, I work for a dealership collection that owns every brand, and I have driven all of them, G8, Mustang GT500, Camaro, Challenger, plus the competing imports. My first choice is the Cadillac CTS V - Incredible Car!!! You can melt the tires at a 45-mph roll... and reach a 104-mph just getting on the expressway... But the Camaro, cames a close second and on par with the ZR1 Corvette, and I personally like it better than the Z06 Corvette. The BMW M5 is sweet too, but a little too pricey...

Chrysler has been known for having extremely cheap plastic interiors for as long as I can remember. I'm afraid with GM's financial problems, that GM is going to be the same way.

I think cheap interiors are going to be the norm in most cars. Only the upscale cars will have any kind of quality interior. Cars like Caddy, BMW, Mercedes Benz, etc... You get the idea.

Craig, I'm going to have to keep in mind that you're a car salesman... I can't picture you telling us a car is crap.

I have never liked the new Camaro. I see where they were going with the retro thing, but it's a failure in that respect. Perhaps it looks good to some eyes, but not mine. Maybe ti will grow on me, and maybe it will not. I LOVED the '05 Crapstangs, but the new ones are taking some getting used to. The new Challenger... now THATS a car to me.

Now all I've seen of any of these cars is going up and down the road.... and yes, I've seen the new Camaro on the road already. NOT impressed. So what if it is faster? It's ugly as sin. The Challenger looks nice, sounds nice.... so what if the tune up is a challenge? (Maybe thats why it's called a Challenger?) The old Dodge's taht I ahve worked on have always been simple and easy to work on... almost as if they were built to be worked on. Chevrolet did some stupid crap though. Almost every Chevy engine puts the distributor as far in teh back as possible, so you can never get to it very well. Teh spark plugs are tucked in as tight as possible under the exhaust manifold, and on the old Chevy engines (not sure about new ones) had the head bolts under the intake. Mopars and Ford's don't do that (or atleast, didn't). The distributors are usually near the front, the spark plug wires are easier to get to, and their just generally easier to work on.

My experience, however, comes from working a bit on 60's, 70's, 80's stuff.

Some of more stupid people who love Chevroelts spout back something like "WELL TAHTS BEACUSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORK ON CHEVROLET'S, THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE EASEIR TO WORK ON!" What idiots.

Have you read the reviews for the new Fords?? 2010 Mustang, Fusion, Taurus? The interiors are great.

The new Malibu has a nice interior, as does the Traverse. The way the Cruze interior looks seems nice, but you can't read a review about a car that isn't out yet.

I haven't had a chance to see the new Camaro in person yet. Too busy when it first came out and now, with flood cleanup underway, well, just about everything takes a back seat to that.

Ah, well.

...and the 2000-present Celebrity/Lumina/impala (driven a 2001 and a 2006).

*shrugs*

I think the new Camaro is one that you either like it or you don't ... NO in between. I've seen pics of it ... and wondered about the size. It seems to big to be a Camaro ... like it maybe should've been (with a few different body tweaks, of course) the new Monte Carlo.

Course, I would've laughed so hard if Ch#$r%*et had announced the new Camaro was FWD...... :).
