That was from across the Road there were other folks closer but this was a 300MM lens also. Kind of a fun experience for sure.
Those are some great pictures "Dale". Hope you're gonna get those framed.
Just watched a video taken on a buddies cell phone when he was bow hunting Elk over here. He was dressed in camo and calling them in when a 600 lb. bull strolled in from the trees within 10 feet and stood behind him. Being a little too close for comfort he stood up and scared it off. The thrill of having a "close encounter" like that was better than the kill. Can you imagine the rush?

That would be a rush for sure, I have been camouflaged enough to have game run right by me and scare the crap out of me before.
My son in law hunts Elk every year around Estes Park and sometimes he will get an Elk he has yet to get his first Bull. Never draws that type of permit.
Last year he says he was taking a nap during the Hunt and a Black Bear strolled into the area he was at, got with in about 15 feet and he only had his Bow, forgot to take his sidearm along. That was probably a rush for him. All he could do was stand up and draw on him. The Bear took off, he said.
I used to hunt everything but today I am not home often enough to be able to do it. So this short break with the family over New Years was a fun time. My Grandkids loved looking for the Elk, sledding and snow shoeing as well.
