How to Tighten Your Browser's Security
#12
I took a PC OS class at the local college last summer. I learned 3 things about computer security.
1. NEVER use Internet Explorer. It is SO intertwined with the operating system that if anything goes wrong, such as a hack, you're in trouble. Use ANYTHING but I.E. I prefer Firefox. I've used the others, but I keep coming back to Firefox.
2. ALWAYS install the recommended upgrades, such as Adobe, Java, and even I.E. Most of the upgrades are for 2 things: Speed and security.
3. STAY AWAY from Norton or McAfee. Try AVG or Avast. AVG is rated #1. IF you try to remove Norton or McAfee, GOOD LUCK! They intertwine themselves into your operating system SO deep, it is impossible to remove everything without wiping clean your hard drive and starting over.
