My Monte hit 120 ( I believe that was the govenor limit at the time)...although I do get "Up there" from time to time with the turbo, I don't think I've gone past 100 if that since the turbo install..

Hello 'Space!!!! Well, I know my body style Torino was the first to 185 mph top speed at Daytona (Talladega would not open for another year), but that was in heavy race trim, of course. It handles about like a 4 door sedan or minivan would, in my opinion, and I haven't driven it much faster than about 70 mph so far... I like to take it nice and easy..... I haven't been over 80 in about a year now. I'm getting old and slow.. hehehe

 

Had the monte up to about 115 and it was still climbing but I caught up to all the other traffic on the highway and hat to let off . Even at that speed everything was smooth as silk felt like about 70. Oh yeah it was just for fun and it was a blast.

 

The fastest I have driven myself was maybe around 120. My limiter should be 110 but my monte had kind of a brain fart I guess and let me peg the needle. Either that or my speedo wasnt reading properly at the time. Thats probably more likely. My speedo reads up to 110 but the needle can still travel a bit until it hits the peg. All I know is after the needle pegged, my car made a god awful sound and decided to cut off the fuel. Im not really complaining because I was racing and beating an Acura TL at the time (which actually got pulled over because I saw the cop and he didnt, lol.)

The fastest I have been in a car would be 145-150 in my buddy's 06 TSX 6 speed. We were racing a little motor swapped honda civic hatchback at the time. Thats was alot of fun.

Hmm maybe I like racing a little too much.... Ive been good lately tho, I havent really raced anyone recently and the last few were only to a reasonable speed.

 

I have gone 135 in a 1998 ls1 Trans Am I brought home from the dealership I worked at. I had the wife's 2004 GTP Comp G over 130 running a Foxbody Gt Stang. (I won!)

Well so far, Im the fastest from what Im seeing here. Ive done a little over 168, Im not sure exactly how fast it was, Id have to guess it was *172?* cause after I hit 168 I went another couple seconds and let off. Dont worry, it was legal, on a private road that is about 3 miles long. The same road as the one im on in my youtube videos. My buddy let me drive his SRT-4. It was tuned pretty good, bigger turbo, bigger IC, somthing done with the trans and a BUNCH of small stuff. Ill tell you, you go over the most gradual hills and grades, and you're almost comming off the ground. I look back on that now and cant belive I was SOOOO STUPID. And just to give you guys an idea of how fast this car is (well... was ) he had a 6 speed and I was almost redlined in 5th!! I have to belive it could top out at at least 200. Like I said, I know it was dumb and looking back, it doesnt even seem like it was real.

 

I went 120 in the monte while I was living in Pensacola on the interstate one night when me & Daniel were cruising. I wanted to go faster but we had to get off the interstate or we wouldn't have been able to get off it for like another 10ish miles & I didn't feel like doing all of that lol

 

Between 100-110 on my way home from work.
I wanted to keep up with a beautiful Vette in front of me, it was fun but had to slow down. Someone in a Crown Vic was pulling up to me real fast, i thought it was a cop for sure but it wasn't. haha, those Crown Vic make my heart beat fast.

1. was my 99 Dodge Neon 4cyl auto 4door, my first car and my ledfoot was fresh
2. was our 99saturn sl2 on our way to Amy's Gpa's funeral

did 85 in my 85 Monte Carlo damn 80's 85mph speedo! it was more but idk by how much

Fastest ever - 115 in the 280Z on Pacheco Pass. Driving like a fool, passing Winnebagos. 20 years ago.

Most recent foolish act - 100 in the Firebird on 101. Just talking (on the hands free) on the way to work. Hang up, wonder why all the other cars are going so dang slow. Hey look, it's going 100. Get a pic of that with the camera phone.

Monte record - she's been up to 90-95 on empty highways. But the tires are old and conscious keeps me from going more.
