Ive gotten the monte up to almost 100. It was on a straight away on a road on the way to work. The only problem was that there is a bridge on that road that sits a little lower than the rest of the road. I was too caught up in speed to realized that I was gonna go over this bridge at about 95 mph. I braced for impact at the last second and hit thestep in the pavement and it was... smooth as butter surprisingly. I guess the car didnt have enough time to plant its weight on the step and hit it hard. Usually at normal speeds I take a beating from road imperfections. Especially that one.

I have gone approx. 125 in my 79 camaro( different size tires and speedo only went to 115, but it was buried past that...on a clear interstate highway at about 6AM on a saturday morning. That was a scary ride as I learned just how bad my shocks were.
In my Monte I have hit the governor, which is somewhere around 112? Again an open interstate highway at around 1AM. This felt smooth, controlled and very confident...gotta love new tires and 4 wheel disk brakes
Now to take care of that governor

I've hit the governor in my 02 SS many times. There is a great stretch of IH-10 east of Houston - 6 lanes, fairly new and smooth concrete for a straight 30 miles. Average speed for all vehicles is probably 80 - 85. I regularly do 80 - 95 for the full 30 miles. With the eibach springsand 1- 1/2" lowered stance, plus the KYB struts and SLP sway bars, it stays plantedand confident. Gotta love the MC!

I've been up to 145 on the Garden State Parkway. I was being very stupid and it was raining.
