Sooo some of y'all may have noticed that I haven't been on the forum all that much lately. A big reason is bcuz now I'm going to school for a big chunk of the day on Monday & Wednesday and then part of Friday. Then I spend all day working at the shop on Tuesday & Thursday & then I go to the shop right after school on Friday. Then Tuesday nights I've been doing Zumba (loveeee it!) Then on Thursdays, & any Friday night & Saturday I have free (& even some Sundays) I have started getting "back to my roots". After 5 years of being away from one of my major passions in life since I could sit up on my own, I am finally able to get back into horses. Back in March 2006 I had to sell my dream horse (I'll post pics up when I find some) bcuz we moved to Florida & couldn't take her with us and since then I've tried to stay away from them since it hurt so bad. A few months ago I decided that I was going to try to find her, and no luck yet unfortunately but I haven't given up.

But anyway my mom's friend is friends with a lady who has several horses & needed someone to ride her Fjord named Gammie in their spare time to keep her moving & not getting too fat. Sadly because of the weather lately I have not been able to ride her in almost 3 weeks. Here are some pics of her that I have.

Her amazingly awesome mane!

She's sooo freaking adorable! She's my lazy horse. I can go ride her & just relax because she is so slow & easy going. So upsetting that I haven't been able to ride her in so long bcuz of the darn rain. Ughh. Hopefully next week I'll be able to go ride her. I need to start working her harder so she will lose some weight. I've never rode a horse like her before so this has been an experience like no other. I love riding different types of horses..later on in the thread I'll post some pics of some of the different types of horses I've been able to ride since I got back into horses a few weeks ago...next horse coming up...

Alright the next set of horses that I've been riding on those days I stated earlier. This lady named Sherri who works at NAPA (which is our main parts supplier for the shop) came in one day & overheard that I was trying to get back into horses. Well she busted out her phone & showed me a pic of her new horse that use to be a barrel horse (I've showed in lots & lots of different types of show events but barrels was one of my favorites & I'd love to get back into it) and asked if I would be interested in coming over to ride him & get him into shape since her & her husband don't ride him very much. So the first day I went over there, her husband had me ride their Fox Trotter first named Red which was a blast. Here are a couple of pics of Red, I have only had a chance to ride him once. I'm focusing on riding Dusty but I plan on giving Red a few good workouts someday soon.

Not very flattering pics of him but that's all I got of him right now. I'll get more soon.

Now their other horse, Dusty. Omg I love this horse lol he is absolutely gorgeous! The pics really don't do him justice at all. We plan on showing him in halter class, western pleasure and eventually barrels & I think bcuz of the way he looks that he will just kill in the halter & western pleasure classes if me & him can nail our communication between each other. Sherri & Rick said that we have really connected so far & I have only rode him a few times. I was suppose to go ride him tonight but it rained of course which means I won't be able to ride him til next week =( Here are some pics of the gorgeous baby. He is like a big dog, he comes over to you if you call him, he will get inbetween you & another horse if he sees you paying attention to a diff horse, and he chases the cats & dogs around lol
Here was the first day I saw him

More pics coming...I love showing him off lol

Has anyone noticed his Zebra stripes on his legs or withers? Gammie has them too up there ^^^

This pic kinda really shows off his dorsal stripe on his back

Pics of Dusty that Sherri has taken...

Alright & now their possible 3rd horse. His name is Lightning & I really hope they can get him bcuz he is so cute & sweet, he is good & easy for Sherri, and if they get him then all 3 of us could go trail riding together sometime. He is an appaloosa/walking horse mix. Those walking horses are sooo bizarre! THey don't trot! They just fast walk lol it's so unlike what I am use to. Here are a couple pics of me riding him last night for the first time

Oh Lightning is about 20 years old. Dusty is I think around 11 or 12. Red is about 13. && Gammie is 15 years old & was a rescued horse.

Here are a couple other amazing horses that I've been blest enough to ride since I've been back into it...

I got to ride one of my dream horses which has always been a dream of mine since I was real young...a Clydesdale. Candy just randomly decided to let me hop off Gammie & ride him for a bit which was totally awesome! It was like floating on a cloud! So much smoother to ride than what you would think

Darn camera got crappy pics

Here is Mist. I'll prob start riding her more after the winter months since I just don't have time to barely ride the others atm

She has been in events like roping & barrel racing before. I'll most def prob try to practice barrels with her if I can once I get use to running them harder in the spring.

Unfortunately the monte has kinda taken a beating with all of this. She turns bright white anytime I go to Sherri's house to ride

I know it doesn't look bad but the badges had mini piles of gravel dust on them.

Y'all should see the monte after going down there yesterday. Her road was covered in huge muddy rain puddles so the monte looks like I took her offroading lol but it has been worth it

Alright I'm done for now...now you guys know my secret passion.

That's what you call horse power. LOL. I hope you get to find your old horse and also that you get to do the riding that you want to do. I have a bunch of horses in my neighborhood.
You can't forget about your Monte and your monte Carlo forum family. Have fun. Gregg

Good to see you Brittany...

All of those are beautiful horses... I especially like the first and last ones ... black horses wit earnhardt branding on it lol

But seriously... how tall is the white one youre riding in the first set of pics...

Here, they have a REALLY big horse show every year that is something to see for a horse addict like yourself.

Thanks for the pics Britt! Great looking horses. Funny thing though. After seeing the Clydesdale, I suddenly want a Budweiser. The power of marketting I guess. Hope you get lots of time to spend with the horses.

Now get out there and wash the Monte.
