I'd agree, $14k-$15k sounds about right considering you drive like an 80 year old man ??? Then this Monte maybe worth less because it may have dents on both sides ..LOL

I say set your minimum at 14.5 k but set your asking price at 17K. That way you have some negotiating room and you may get closer to the 17k.

Unfortunately not a lot is fair. Modifications can be talking and selling points in some cases but typically you will not recover much of the value you put into the car yourself in modifications, etc. Pulling and selling mods separate is an option.

I would set your starting price below $17k; I'm thinking like mid $16k at the most. That's still above value and gives you negotiating room yet doesn't give sticker shock to people interested in the car. I usually won't even look at cars that are a bit ridiculously priced. 16 looks better than 17 in the eyes of a buyer and I think you'd get more interest in the $16k range. Don't be surprised at offers below $14k.

Don't be surprised if you don't get any offers over $12k. Most people will actually try to buy it for 10k.

These cars just don't have the following that others have, and resale is very difficult. Many have struggled to sell their cars, and either kept them, or traded them in for a loss
