Too many people put too much stress on themselves and their bank accounts during the holidays.

Learning to enjoy each other's company if you aren't well off, is the best way to spend a holiday.

Well Said Mod `Mike
The gift of friendship/love is what this Christmas and Hanukkah season is about to me. As is the gift of giving to others who are in need that is the real joy and meaning of the season.

You know as one gets older (like me) Christmas takes on a different meaning. My daughter asked wifey what I wanted for christmas. I told her time with the grand kids, popcorn and a cold beer and good conversation with daughter and son-in-law watching a movie on TV.

My christmas is now family, friends and time with the wife. Used to be years back lots of "Stuff" to open.

The idea of helping if/when you can always gets a spotlight shining on it this time of year, but (unfortunately) doesn't get much attention during the rest of the year. The sad truth is there are many that need help throughout the year. There are lots of things you can donate to your local food banks, shelters and churches besides food or money. Clothing, blankets, books and school supplies are always in demand. Even old toys your child no longer plays with can put a smile on another childs face. This is something to think about all year around, not just during the Holiday Season.
