Default Has anyone ever steam cleaned their engine bay?

Thinking about doing that this week (Friday or Saturday) I cleaned alot of dirt and gunk up but not all of it. Especially under the car. Wondering if I should cough up the $25 and have someone steam clean my engine bay

I would do it for that price. It will get all the gunk off.

I own a steamer - I spray some simple green on and then blast it with the steam. Steam also works great on wheels.

Just be sure to remove your engine cover before doing it. The paint on the letters tends to come off. Plus you clean more of the engine with the cover off.

The body shop that repaired the front of my '94 Dodge Shadow ES steamed cleaned the engine and engine compartment before doing any spray work.

I think they may have steam cleaned the engine in my '93 Dodge Shadow ES when they repaired it in 2004.

from everything i've heard in the past, it sounds like the way to go. I don't have a steamer so i can only tell you what i've heard from other members, but i have yet to hear anything bad about doing it.
