Halloween Costumes 2015
Well, I managed to win 1st in the costume contest at the auto parts store I still work at on weekends! The contest was today. Last years Spiderman came up short, but I blame that on a lousy photo being submitted. I won 2 years ago dressed as Ricky Boddy (Talladega Nights)
This year is "Pirates of the Caribbean" for the whole family. But I'm at the center of it as Captain Jack Sparrow. I put a lot into it. A lot of it I had to make, everything had to be "weathered". I tortured myself the last 2 months beard growing. It's actually a very complicated and detailed costume, but there are several website dedicated to "Sparrow costuming" for help. Each of the 4 rings I'm wearing are replicas. Each bead is accurate. The boots were custom made. To blow this up bigger and keep this original, I painted, blacked out and replated my truck - now christened "The Black Pearl". I think it had a hand in my winning
Unveiled for the first time here and now...

It was a hectic morning getting my 6 year old off to school in her mermaid costume. Mommy wasn't around first thing this morning and I her make-up all wrong. It was stressful! My screaming 1 year old made it tough and she wasn't so happy to wear her costume...

Here's the pumpkins I carved last weekend:

I'll edit in more of the family later - tomorrow should be more fun. Time was so tight today I didn't even get a mermaid picture yet, but when I walked my daughter to school we were both in costume.

And the loot!

Let's not have this thread about me! Who else has some pics of awesome costumes of themselves or their kids (or their cars)?

Captain Jack is one of my favorites.
I wish I was able to do something like that. But I need to be home to do it too.
I have a few from the past that I will share.
A few years back we had a contest during our work day, this gorgeous lady hung out with me all during the event. Yeah I know?!?!

Then there was one that this local Race track had, We did a fund raiser for this driver who was burned during an accident in the Race.

Hilarious! The funnier part is that it looks about right! Like the car should have been built that way...
For the first time is probably the better part of 10 years i did halloween this year. Did a cars & costumes car show yesterday and i took the buick and dressed to fit. Got a trophy for it as well, so did Devin and Amanda

Your too funny, wow, impressed with your over the top efforts. I read about your having many of the pieces custom made and growing out your beard, getting the correct rings etc.
I can see how you won Monte of the Year here, your not one who takes entering a contest lightly. Congrats on your 1st place win at work, bet you smoked em good!
Superb efforts on your whole family's behalf, everyone proved to be great sports. . Perhaps by next year your BlaqPerl will be encrusted with barnacles from all yer time on the high seas plundering other ships fro your personal riches. You really pulled off a very convincing Cpt. Jack Sparrow, wow, your good!! lol
I did not do nothing special, should have did a Jack A*$ "Bad Grandpa" probably would have had a lot more candy left over than we did.
