GM suddenly doesn't look so bad recalling their cars for a "possible" fire where there were no known fires.

Here comes Furd with actual fires!!!!!!

Are you referring to GMs 3800 BBQ? Ive seen a few that have burned myself so you cant say no known fires. As for ford, they havent had any luck with cruise control systems. There have been recalls for Fords cruise control units since the early 90s. Maybe earlier than that. For example the F series pickups like my 93 F150 had a cruise control recall for potential fire hazard.

At least they aren't using zip ties to fix the problem.

" to repair the possibility of fire, sir, we removed the entire turn signal lever. your turn signal and wiper controls have been relocated to a "nascar inspired" ( to steal chevys term, lol) pannel of toggle swiches just below the dash. unfortinitly, you now only have 1 speed for your wipers, idk how fast, and you need to use seprate toggles for left and right signals... if you get confused, go buy a user- friendly chevrolet and let our products rust in peace " -- ford dealer invoice lol, j/k

i like one of the comments someone made on the article... "time to swing by your dealership and buy a ford branded fire extinguisher" they should consider it...but then again...contents under pressure X FURD would not be a good combination.....

When the recall was published I heard that there were no known reported incidents of the part in the recall being responsible for a fire.
