I know

I bought it brand new just a couple months after they came out, then spent a ton of money on aftermarket mods. Frame sliders, spools, tank protector, grip levers, wind screen, GP pipes, fender eliminator... it was one of my most prized possessions.

Dead of winter, it's in my garage covered up because it's out of service until the melt. One day it's there, next it's not. Never saw it again.

debby downer :P

But I know what you mean. My brother-in-law had a dodge avenger, older body style. About 7 years of work, and finally got his $8,000 twin-turbo engine put in. Was going to pick the car up the next day... well that previous night his car was stolen out of the mechanic's lot, taken for a joy ride, and wrecked. He salvaged what he could from the wrecked one, and was very bitter whenever he saw one.

He managed to find another one (same color) and purchased it. And is well on his way of modifying it again.
