figured id have a lil fun
this friday night the local 1/8 mile drag stip is gonna be open & im gonna run my monte & my friend is gonna run his truck this will be the first time for both vehicles so id like to see what ppl think theyll run
heres the numbers:
2003 Monte Carlo SS
All Stock except exhaust & intake, unknown 0-60

2007 Dodge Ram 2500
Weight:6157
Horsepower: 791
Torque:1489
known 0-60: 2.8sec

At my local 1/8th mile, I run low 10's. I ran a 9.8 one night by airing up the rear tires, dropping the pressure in the front tires for grip, taking all the weight out of the trunk, and taking the headlight out for some ram air 
In street trip, it runs 10 flat to 10.2. Barometric pressures, the amount of grip you can get, and the such, all matter too, along with elevation... but I don't think ti matters as much on street cars with fuel injection.
Get a video! I love the drag strips. Hopefully you can run a little bit better than me, because everyone is a little bit optimistic for you!

i was gonna say for the monte somewhere in the 10's, mabe low 11's or high 9's....
the truck? is it cummins powered? if so the low end torq can be a major advantage on a short track, i would say mid to low 5's... but thats just a guess. and it may do better if its an automatic, quicker shifts

Those trucks aren't as fast as everyone peps them up to be, they have way to much weight holding them back. High 8's to 9's is what they usually run without a lot of mods. Usually the only thing running 5's is the pro stocks and the such. You can usually figure an 1/8th mile time as about 2/3rds of the quarter mile time.... so you're talking about a truck that can turn 8's and 9's in a quarter to do a 5 in the 1/8th.
well its a CAI now & just a lil more info on the truck its got an auto trans, Aura 5000 turbo, methanol, nitrous, internals, stacked chips, itll pin u in the seat, makes over 90lbs of boost
