Got a small milestone hear of 5000 posts with this one.
This is kinda cool back in 2013 I happened to stumble onto this forum.
Met some nice folks on here. Some in person thru travels.
The thing for me was the pass time it created I traveled extensively I was a road inspector.
Spent a lot of time in Hotels to the point I was a Platinum member with several chains and this was supposed to be a temporary job.
I have one of the most hated Monte Carlos ever made and for the most part everyone on here treated me like part of the family and I did the same.
Some of the things that ran that post tally up was a contest about (Can you name this ride)? Where someone would post a photo of a car and you had to guess what it was and if you got it right you got to try and stump the group.
Then we had photo contests and the winner picked the theme and you had to post your car with what ever the theme was. I was fortunate to wind some of those also.
Then we had the daily members blog, then it went to the Monthly Blog and now we haven't had one for awhile?
Oh and I won the Mote of the Month 2 times once in 2015 and again 2017 you had to be nominated by someone on here to be in the running and then voted on by the forum members>
I posted a photo once of me in the blog that was about show a photo of yourself. So I did that and everyone thought it was a cardboard standup until a member named butch049 said I have seen drivernumber3 and he looks just like the intimidator. Yah I met him once nothing to do with racing and I really didn't know who he was and it was something that freaked us both out. I am 70 years old now and he left us at 49 years old so I look like an Old Dale now Lol I still get comments about it. ( that is why you see my little signature thing with a 3 car and the guy in the white uniform is me).
Some of the photo's included are the ones I call the Fanclub photo's when that many girls ask you to take a shot with them you just do it. At that time they were the same age as my daughter and I was very respectful of them.
Most of the new members today don't stick around, they have a problem with there car, they are looking for a quick fix, once they get that they are gone.
That's to bad because you can learn alot from a Forum.
I have found out that some folks do appreciate my Generation of Monte Carlo and when I have taken it to Carshows I get some awards not long ago I got one for best of show in my class and best display also so I was thrilled.
Thanks to all the people who have been supportive and friendly, keep doing what you do best.
here are a few recent photo's of the MC.
the Monte today Every decal on this thing covers up something that happened in a parking lot or a Stupid incident My display at the show Hersey's a little Dale pose Fan club Fan club Fan Club Trophy time Parade time Just before the parade Phantom Dale stuff

Reason: add something
I'm not too far behind you - 4963 here. Had over 10k on mymonte before it closed down.

Thats one of the main reasons I stuck around this forum too. Seems like so many of the monte forums were geared towards gen 1-4 so there was little activity / love for the newer models (and in some cases outright hatred).
This and mymonte were the big ones I found to be heavier on 5th and newer cars so the people here seem more accepting.

That part is a shame. The newer generations are more into the instant gratification / Facebook style communication. No one searches for info or makes long running topics as info repositories, you just get a bunch of new daily one off posts with limited discussion before they fade away. Sure doesn't help foster the sense of community like forums like these do.
I'm sure the rock bottom car values don't help either as people seem to buy them now as a beater to use until it breaks.

Congrats on this milestone, 5k + for you, sweet. You keep the New Posts section lit up, good to have you around as a constant force here.
I may or may not have commented on this post because of the to die for pics with all the groupies. Wth, our days are waning, would have loved to had the photo sessions like you took part in. I'm likely to get some homely heffer saddling up next to me, sad to see my Monte has no back seat.
Lets keep it live there Dale Sr. , you have a legend to represent. You are doing outstanding, no dishonorable actions at all. Keep it clean, they have to love you at the Car Shows. You are a good man on a good mission.
