Oh Rick 2006 SS... I have had my baby since 2005. I have been a chevy princess since I can remember! It started with my papa and his old chevy truck....sigh good ole days! I'm in the process of changing my interior to leather...but I have some other more important things to do first...specially with this tire rod situation! I sometimes feel taken advantage of...just because I am a female.... But at least I do research before I hand them my card! Lol

Hey Princess - I assume you're talking about tie rods (instead of tire rods)? Looks something like this:

Nice looking Monte by the way.

Good morning, Mimi. I just had the outer tie rods replaced on my Monte a few months ago. Luckily I have an extended warranty on the car and only had to pay my deductable so it didn't sting too bad. There's a daily blog thread every morning where the members stop by and say hello. Feel free to join in.

The infamous tie rods. Most of the time you don't even need them, and mechanics take advantage of women...

Typically it's just a bushing that has gone bad, not the whole rod.

Thanks Mimi: Hope you find a good place to have your car worked on. And don;t wait till its too late to get it fixed. Check a couple of places on pricing for the job. Try your Chevy dealer for a price then go to others. If you can find a Mom & Pops place. Thats been in business for a while. You just might find a good place. Mosr are honest places. But its a few that ruin it for others. Don't wait to long or it could break and cause more damage to your Monte. Or even an accident. Let us know how it goes. Oh yes by the way. Everyday we have our MORNING BLOG. wHERE sPACE OR TEACHER STARTS IT OFF. Then you can go on there and tell us how your doing on that day. Nice to see you joined here. And posting. KEEP it up. Like I said were a BIg Happy Family here.

Lol I'm no mechanic as far as job title goes but I've been working on chevys (and especially the 3800 series motors) for years now. You're a little too far away for me to be able to help though otherwise I would. I always enjoy doing some work.
