Default Gentlemen. Meet Maddison.

Hey Guys,

Had my first visit with Maddison today, the little angel that me and the missus are looking into fostering/adopting from her evil sister. Meet Maddison:

There is one issue, and Ill have to drag Grandpa, and Space out for this. We belive she may be blind. I need whatever you guys can dig up about raising blind children.. Im getting nowhere with the CNIB up here in Canada.

Thanks a bunch guys.

(yes. this is the angel that threatened Crystals existence. And you cant stay mad at a face like that, can ya?)

She is indeed a cutie. You "believe" she may be blind? Considering the state of medical technologytoday, that should be something the doctors could determine with certainty. Of course in Canada, you probably have to wait in line to see a specialist.

For sure. The wait is there.. Im used to what I saw with my kids.. At 3-4 weeks theyd open thier eyes, try to focus on you, track things around the room.. With Maddison, there isnt anything like that. CAS also belives she is blind, but nobody has the 100% answer. Yet.

It doesnt change my opinion on it any, it just means that we have to approach parenting a little differently.

What a beautiful little girl.

If you do get custody of her don't forget to teach her Chevy - good, ricer - bad.

When my nephew Dave was born they told my oldest sister he had medical problems. Not once during his life has he ever shown any evidence of this problem they stated he definately had. As for Maddison love her either way and put your trust in the Lord.

she may just not feel like looking around... its hard to say jsut yet. the doctors thought i would need a liver transplant when i was born in 1989. but i didn't, and i have a healthy liver to this day. another problem the doctor had was that i didn't cry when i was born (i made up for it inelementaryschool ). the doctor woudln't let me go for 2 hours because he had to hear me cry before i could leave the hospitol.... o'well

I'll check with my daughter tonight, she majored in Child Development in college before Mia came along and put a pause in her education.

She's a cutie. Definitely.
Hopefully it's just a case of her sight not being fully developed yet, but I get the feeling you'll love her unconditionally either way.
