Default Future Monte Carlo Concept Ideas

Hey MC Family, could you see a new MC based on the actual Intimidator concept but built on the Alpha platform?

I love the Intimidator Concept Design, but I'm sure it could be modernized. Here is my small list of things I'd like to see for a new MC:

1. RWD! It's cool to see fans do RWD builds for these cars--just make it standard. 🙏

2. Speed: Bring back the SS 454 V8 as it's legacy is self-explanatory. 💪

3. Legacy design: Make sure that a recent iteration has cues from MC's over the years 💯

4. Aftermarket Parts: I know most of us like being custom here so this benefits us all. 🤣

So what about you guys??? Have your say too!

The only part I'd hesitate on is the 454. I'm not really a fan of the modern Chevy big block. With the crazy expansion of the LS/LT, the latest big blocks (which of course are discontinued now for Chevy applications) were really honed for the big truck market over the last few decades. I want to say the last true 454 was like 300 hp / 400 tq. Even the final gen 8.1s were only like 350/450. The current gas HD smallblock (LT / L8T) does 400 / 460. No doubt the big block makes more down low, but that's not really needed unless you've got something like a loaded motor home or a big dually hauling tons of rock.

The aftermarket is also pretty abysmal as there's really only one company doing "big" stuff with them. But the bang for the buck is pretty bad compared to LS aftermarket. The base NA modding package is like $6k for only 440 hp / 490 tq. They do offer a SC kit that does 600 hp / 700 tq (which frankly isn't great compared to a stock supercharged LT) but its over $10k by the time you add an IC and the mandatory forged bottom end parts to support the boost level the SC is rated at.

I know the lineage isn't there, but Id rather see something like a LS7. Frankly even a basic LT1/LT2 easily exceed the performance of the original big block cars and would be more than enough performance for the average owner.

The question is will they offer the LT1 outside of the Camaro? I thought it was exclusive to the car. I could also see some type of Whipple Supercharger developed for whatever engine they choose to go with. The LS7 has some options available, doesn't it?

They did offer it in the c7 vette too. Plus the L86 is virtually the exact same engine (minus a longer runner intake and deeper oil pan) that was used in multiple trucks / SUVs. So I don't think there are specific internal limitations. Frankly this is probably more feasible than the LS7 anyways aa its at least a gen 5 engine.

I think it would be cool to have 3.6/5.3/6.2 as the 3 levels of engine choices.

It all boils down to packaging. Theyve got whippples that physically bolt to all of the gen 3/4/5 LS, its just a matter of the car's design allowing it to fit under the hood. On the C6 vettes its mandatory to either buy a hood or cut a hole as they dont clear.

For sure, theres a ton of aftermarket for the LS7. Not quite as much as a normal LS as the heads are a bit different, but its still as much as anyone could ask for.
