I believe you, i know tire pressures go up when its warmer and down when its colder. But during the summer i've checked them earlier and they were ok, not sure how they got so high.

friction after driving for and extended period of time. or the tire gnomes attacked your car with compressed c02 while you were sleeping. If you catch them ask them to return my wrenches. I always lose a screw driver or wrench when I am doing something and it never reapears. They take the tools I need and dont return them.

never, should your run that high psi, honestly, that is not a way to get better mpg........

Start a thread on psi tire pressure and you'll see for yourself. Or do a search on here, that high psi is not recommended.

driven hard I get 23.5 @ 44 psi, 22@ 35 psi; driven soft I get 32 @ 44 psi, 29 @ 35 psi. Personal experince. I have always done it never had a problem. I deflate a bit in the winter for better traction.

what type of gauge are you using for checking tire pressure? And if that is what you like then "go for it". I wouldn't do it in my car......

Sure higher psi tires will give better mpg, (got great mpg my last tank, 27.85) But thats because there is less rubber on the road, there for less rolling resistance. Im not sure how mine got that high, the car had been sitting for a while and the sun wasn't making a difference(shady side, same psi) My only guess is the mechanics when they did a tire rotation, but even still that doesn't seem right. I know at work we are all jokers,(wipers up, mirrors in, antennas off, tires on the roof..) But i doubt its a prank, if it is, well played a$$hole...
