More images from the huge pile up on I-75 in Detroit yesterday morning. If you didn't hear about it, the accident scene stretched for over a mile long, involving over 30 vehicles. Three deaths and more than 20 people taken to area hospitals. There were very heavy, narrow bands of lake effect snow coming from Lake Michigan across the state all day yesterday. This was a situation where drivers drove into one of these "snow squalls" and whiteout conditions instantly dropped visibility to zero. Michigan also had another 30+ car pile up on US-23 south of Flint a few hours after the one in Detroit.
