Default Flowmaster Outlaws are on

Hey guys so I posted yesterday about my axle backs that came in yesterday. I got up early today and started to put them on. It took way longer then expected. I think someone had messed with the factory mufflers at some point because the flowmaster hangers didn't match up with where mine were at, at all. Even though they are supposed to be made to factory specs. So that leads me to believe mine were tampered with at some point. So me and my dad made 2 new brackets by taking the rubbers out of the stock ones and then we got a flat piece of aluminum and made new brackets that way.

I could have taken it to an exhaust shop but I wanted to do all the work myself. Everything seems to be working good, no rattles or anything so I'm going to say job well done.

So first impressions of hearing it, they sound phenomenal. They have that iconic flowmaster old school muscle car sound. But it has a much deeper tone then what you normally think of when you hear flowmaster. It's also loud....like really loud. But it's not obnoxious, it's a little on the raspy side with some nice pops and crackles every now and again. But it does have a very nice smooth tone. It doesn't have really any drone, at least at the speeds I drive at 95% of the time which is around 45mph. It's actually pretty tame when you are just cruising. But when you even think about getting on it the sound comes to life and just roars. I have yet to go WOT because I'm scared I'll get complaints from China because I woke them up lol. I'm still kind of cautious around cops, but I have just driven normally and the ones I have driven past seemed to care less. I have already gotten a few thumbs up and compliments from people as I drive by which is always a good feeling.

Here is a little video I did with a start up and a few revs.

Sounds very nice

Glad you were able to get the bugs sorted out with the mounting issues. It's always nice when you do a job well.

Yea, it wasn't really 2 bad to make them. Took maybe 15 minutes for each one, and we made 2. So it took about 30 minutes longer then what it really should have. Actually it was about an hour and 30 minutes longer then what it should have since we had to run around and find supplies and figure out how we were going to make them. But it was all worth it

Imuf,
That's probably the best sounding flows that I have heard...
That's one thing that's unique about a ford firing order...
They definitely produce a unique sound when the exhaust is set up right.
You definitely accomplished the "Right" sound.

I like it!

Thanks Stumpmi, these do have a great sound. I think I drove around for probably a good 2-3 hours today just listening to it haha. The one thing I'm getting used to is keeping them quiet when need be. Any more then like an 1/8th of the throttle and it literally sounds like my car wants to bite your head off lol. They are not as loud as what I thought they were going to be. But yea, it's still pretty darn loud lol
