Good morning guys.

We've had 4.5" of fresh snow since Wednesday evening. Yesterday's and today's morning commutes were a bit slow but not terrible.

Another Detroit building restoration is in the books and it's one of my favorite Detroit buildings! The 453 foot David Stott Building. Built in 1929, it's a brick-clad art deco gem and was named after a legendary flour pioneer. It was converted into residential studio apartments and retail.

Yesterday, the price of 87 regular unleaded dropped down to $1.98. Ethanol-free 93 octane is still around $2.50....

Wow that is really cool to restore these old buildings. Now does the company you work for do this design work?
Today I am retired but my son is a construction mgr. working on some university projects and his wife is an interior designer. she is currently designing office projects for all kinds of commercial applications. Makes me wish I was still doing that kind of work. I do have a small claim to fame on Metal buildings. The company I worked for back in the early 80's had a Metal Building manufacturing facility. They did commercial buildings for the AG markets in the Central USA. They were famous for applying a wainscot metal to the exterior of each of these faculties.
So I had this old timer who was a successful farmer that wanted to purchase a new Building he was showing me how cheap everyone else was that I was pricing against. So off the hood of the Car I rendered a farm building that was a big one I broke it up using the wainscot effect. It was along the highway. So the company I worked for was in financial difficulty and in 1986 along with 7000 other employees I lost my job.
That year I went to the State Fair and Morton Pole buildings had copied my design, and today all over the USA and beyond you see the wainscot style applied to many buildings. ( one of there sales guys told me they copied the style on that very building I sold) Lol
To bad I couldn't have gotten royalties on that.

Well it is a bit warm, humid and real winding down in south Texas, we were able to go over to Mexico and check out some shops . I haven't seen to many Monte Carlo's yet maybe one in the parking lot and one at Church last Sunday.
Yesterday was 79 degrees. kinda warm for me. this resort has a bunch of activities to enjoy. I have been Swimming, and doing a shuffle board and shooting some pool. I am not any good at anything.
