Ever Have One Of Those Days

If you had to, you could swap out the overdrive A604 that comes in 3.0 Shadows, Daytonas, Spirits and the like with a more reliable 3 speed auto from a 3.0 equipped minivan (late '80's, early '90's, I believe). I'm not sure about all the details of the swap right now, but its been done. My '90 Daytona has the 3.0/A604 combo and I hope never to have to change it, because I like having overdrive. I've been looking at a 5 speed swap on this car, but that's on the backburner now that I have my Monte to play with.

I know some of the guys on AllPar have ditched the 604 O/D trans in their cars in favor of a more reliable transmission.
I hope I never have to purchase another re-man or used transmission for these cars ever again.
The fact the trans in my '93 Shadow seems to be one of the rare, decent 604 O/D transmissions (Debbie's right foot was made from a dwarf star) is something I'm very grateful of.
I just hope it lasts till I can afford to replace the car.

So far, I'm safe. lol
I had to buy a starter for the car yesterday. Friday night I went out to get in the car and the starter hung up on the flywheel. Even rocking the car didn't free it up. Thought I was going to have to leave it where it sat, but on the last try of the ignition it started.
There is (or was) a chance it was the original starter to the car. Unless whoever owned the car before, bought a Mopar starter for the car. Cause that's what was on there.
The AZ starter has a life-time replacement on it, so if I have troubles I can return it for a replacement.
I never bought one of the AZ starters before. The starter on my '94 Shadow is a NAPA item. So I guess I"ll see how good the AZ piece is?
