I saw that posted on Facebook. I am with teacher on this one, Violence most often leads to more violence. When my kid got in that fight at school a while back, it was also videotaped on his Ipod. Principal took posession and deleted it. He did not want it posted to the internet. But hopefully they will leave that boy alone now. That looked like it could have been a much worse situation. What if the boy had been turned around the other way and it was his head that hit instead of legs. Boy could have ruined both of their lives.

They showed that video on the local news a few days ago. I think the fat kid getting suspended for 1 day is bullsh*t. He was being bullied by that little sh*t for how long? And then gets suspended when he stands up for himself? That's crap!

I know what the school has to say about it. They say the fat kid should've gone to his teacher about it instead.

The schools around me don't take stuff like that seriously. They just don't want to get involved when a fat kid gets bullied. The teachers around here usually tell the kid getting bullied to, "don't let them bother you" or "just ignore them" or stuff like that. I'm not speaking for any other school district. Just the schools around me. I think that's also one reason we're seeing kids bringing weapons to school now. As already mentioned in this thread.

Being fat is one of the few things left that bullies can still pick on without getting in trouble by the schools.

I'm glad neither kid is seriously injured. But it's kinda nice to see a bully getting what he deserves for a change. Rather than being told to go sit in the corner.

Well I bet. When he gets back into school Theres a few kids that wil think twice before they try to tease him again. He might have some NEW friends. For finally sticking up for his self.

I was taught when i was young that i will always be the one that gets in trouble for fighting because i am the bigger kid. I never picked fights and tried to always avoid them as much as possible.

But i have been in that same situation with some little kid egging me on to fight and when i tried to walk away he punched me in the back of the head and again in the face when i turned around. He wasnt expecting me to swing once and knock him to the ground. I got in more trouble than he did because he got hurt and i walked away with just a bruise.

The reputation of the one hit stopped a lot of the insults and picking on me but it never went away. It's really sad that most big kids get in trouble for the little kids insecurities and trying to prove something by fighting.

Hopefully that little kids parents saw the video so they know that their little piece of scum through the first punch and had it coming.

Unfortunately the world we grew up in is different then todays reality. What we see happen in schools today is that the kid who stood up for himself would now be a target and we would be checking the bully's back pack for weapons when he comes back. You would be amazed how many knives kids bring to school. Like I said, glad the kid stood up for himself, and I hope this was the end of it.

haha I saw this on the news the other day...that kid got what he deserved! I wish I could have done that to my bullies in middle school. Most I ever did was flip one outta their chair at the SeaWorld adventure camp I went to after I graduated 8th grade

You're right Todd. That's exactly what I see happen when watching the Detroit news at 5:00 every day. I'm not trying to pick on Detroit. The schools I posted about previously were Windsor schools. And the thing with Detroit schools is no big secret. It's in the news everyday around here. And I know Detroit is not the only city with that problem. Unfortunately, like Todd said, it's gotten to be the norm all over the country.

But back to the two kids this thread was originally about.

I really think that the bigger kid who stood up for himself will now be followed around by kids with their camera phones out, hoping to get him to do it again. Why? Because the kids think it's funny. And want to be the next one to have a viral video on YouTube.

The big kid reminds me of the kid from Bad Santa. I'm glad he stood up for himself in epic fashion!
