yep, its supposed to bypass marshalls creek and the traffic jam the "town" creates ( if you can call a small shopping center, bar and 2 gas stations a town) and they've been talking about it for at least 30 years. just a few years ago they actually started to build it, still working off of the 30 year old routing plans, which now just scoop traffic from the middle of the jam and dump it back into the middle of the jam on the other end, instead of actually "bypassing" anything!
and they reduced it to 2 lanes to cut costs. i think the best part though is that their adding a "roundabout" intersection to the one end so no one has to stop. i guess they figure the ambulence and fire departments aren't doing enough, lol

Holy crap, Ryan ... that sounds ... messed up, to put it mildly.
Yikes.
Around here, they just finished a new bridge over the Fox River, connecting IL RT 25 to Randall Rd ... via Stearns Rd. They did a marvelous job, even though it took so dang long....lol.
