Hey guys thanks for all the replys I went over what everyone had to say and great comments, after talking to people and my own research it seems the same general ideas.

They are a light quick car that can very easily be made extremely fast with the right amount of money and tuning, that's where the diehards come in that defend the reliability of this car to the grave.

But the facts are its extremely unreliable and almost every owner you talk to has killed one or owned 3 after the break. A car that is literally dying off like you guys stated.

And after talking to the angry talon driver's friends I have discovered that indeed he has very minor mods done yet brags about pushing 20lbs of boost on almost stock engine believing he can beat anyone, and to try and impress girls that don't know anything about cars with his 20lbs.

There seems to be a bad habit I notice of stock turbo cars creating very ignorant owners, there's some strange phenomenon with import owners and ego size

I had a friend who pulled up in an old green eagle talon while at a friend's house. He'd just bought it and was, like the guy in OP's story, over-enthused about the thing and wanted to show everybody. Needless to say, once he'd gathered everyone out there to watch him do a couple of tricks... that poor chicken wouldn't even crank. He sold it the next day... lol. What's the point of fast if the engine might throw before you can even finish the 1/4 mile? Lots of better, faster and more reliable ricers out there than the chicken.

I call it a chicken because it's about as good as a bird that can't fly.

I own an import and my ego isn't huge. From my personal experience, most V8 MUSTANG owners have overinflated egos.

True that. It seems like if you beat them the frst time and then they comeback with an upgrade and beat you. You will never hear the end of how slow your car is. haha. Not like it was fast to begin with.
