Default Downgrade? Upgrade?

I wonder how hard it would be to swap a 3.8 Supercharged into a 06-07 Monte? Should be lots of these engines laying around nowadays... M/C have them, buicks, GTPs..

i think that would be the ideal swap. V8's cause such an uneven distribution of weight. it seems to me like if you can get a wirring harness and it bolts up to the transaxle, it should be quite simple.

I read somewhere that the engine compartment was completely revamped from earlier years.

The frame rails and all their mountings were relocated or something like that.

Dangit.. I really want more guts to my monte, but the mods for the 3.5 are pretty narrow. Thats why I was thinking of a 3.8 S/c. At least those have some mods..

Your best bet would be to get a HP Tuners Programmer and bump up some speed that way. Then look into getting a custom fabricated crossover pipe and setup a turbo system. You and usually get cheap ones on ebay and the junk yard.

You can probably do it for around 1-2 grand and just top out at 7 -9 psi.

in my opinion...you could trade the whole car infor a 3.9ltz or upgrade the engine to a3.9it has just as much horsepower as the 3.8 if not moreor just go for the 5.3 v8,
also the 60v6 store has some good stuff for the 3.5 or 3400 i just don't have the cash to take advantage of it yet

Maybe check some Pontiac G6 forums. The G6 uses the 3.5 also.

My answer was find a 3.9 and install it. You'll like it.
