As it should be! Ive always loved those SRT-4s since a friend in school had one. He had a ton of stuff modified on it and it flew. Even got to drive it a few times myself. Not so sure it was THIS fast tho lol. Love to see it beating that other thing. Ive developed a hate for those Chargers and Challengers just because all the BS you see on the internet/social media.

 

Same here. A good friend in college had one for a few years (until he wrecked it). Relatively lightly modded, but it was surprisingly quick for how little he had into it (especially considering it was a brand new car too). Certianly not the fastest car around, but back in the early 00s it didn't take much to get your fairly high in the local pack in rural areas.

Got so much hate for it being 'just a neon', and I never understood that. None of the other FWD sport compacts (the people usually giving him crap) were anything particularly great either - civic, golf, etc - you'd think they were all rolling around in six figure Maybachs or something.

I give Dodge credit for making a good effort that was relatively well targeted to the intended audience.

 

I understand. The car is visually appealing, but that reputation is horrible. More reason to be a proud Chevy guy.

 

Around you guys is the Charger / Challenger the #1 participant in these 'street takeovers'? (where they block off the road or an intersection to do donuts and act crazy)

Every time I see that on the news or FB around here, it seems like more than 50% of the cars there are Dodge products.

Sure gives the car community a bad reputation - worse even than the mustangs wiping out every time they leave a cars and coffee.
